Travel Guide: Pinamuntugan Island - The Hidden White Sand Paradise in Albay

Pinamuntugan Island is one of the unique island and beach destinations located off the coast of Cagraray Island in Albay. It is without refinement, a little wilder, slightly more untamed and significantly less touristy than its neighbor destinations. With a limited accommodation and infrastructure, it is surely an Eden for intrepid explorer who loves a rugged, less refined island with natural landscape. This simple and distinct island is now gaining popularity as it shines itself as one of the few white sand beaches in Albay. The island's stand-alone rock formation is somewhat the landmark and gateway of Pinamuntugan and is the premier celebrity of the island.

Travel Guide: Burias Island, Masbate Province

Burias is a large island located in Masbate Province, Bicol Region. The island is comprised of two municipalities: Claveria and San Jacinto. The town of Claveria is located at the south end of the island and San Jacinto at the north end of the island. There is a road network in the island but most of it are unpaved and only motorcycle will be able to navigate the rough roads.  There is electricity in the island, however, most of the time the electricity only last for 12 hours or less every day. Each town has its own diesel-powered generator that supplies electricity to some barangays.

Burias Island also boast some semi-white sand beaches. There are few semi-white sand beaches located in the town of Claveria and San Jacinto. One of the known beaches is San Isidro Beach located in Barangay San Isidro, Claveria town. It has a long stretch of fine semi-white sand beach.

Burias can be accessed through two ports: via Claveria town and via San Jacinto town. There are daily trips going to these two towns but the access point to Claveria is via Pio Duran town in Albay province and if you’re going to San Jacinto town, your access point would be in Pasacao town in the province of Camarines Sur.

5 Fascinating Facts about Coron, Palawan

Here are some fascinating facts about Coron in Palawan, from how this island was formed to its environmental awards to its keepers’ greatest legacy.

Fact #1. Coron limestones were formed 260 million years ago as a coral reef along the length of Southeast Asia and was part of the China Continental Crust. It was later drafted to its present location north of Palawan by tectonic movements.

They were uplifted by tectonism some 30 million years ago and then extensively eroded by waves and monsoon rains to create its present unique “karst” topography. These limestone crops rise dramatically as cathedral-like formations more 400 meters above sea level. [Source: UNOCAL company calendar]

Waterfalls Rappelling with Kaddlagan - Itbog Twin Falls Camarines Sur

Waterfalls Rappelling - Itbog Twin Falls, Buhi, Camarines Sur
Addictive! That's the kind of term you'll be talking for when you go chasing a waterfall. To all the millennials out there, when you're out of tone to go catching your goals, try chasing the waterfalls! I tell you, you'll call it generation goals.

This isn't the first time we're doing waterfall rappelling. But the excitement we feel is always equally the same. It never changes, it never fails. It keeps coming back like a wrecking ball. (Hehehe!) I will be forever grateful to Kaddlagan Outdoor Adventure Tour for introducing this bone-boggling kind of water sport to me and to my better half.

So, what's our next final destination? Today, we'll go hunting for Itbog Twin Falls in Sta Cruz, Buhi Camarines Sur. Let me start the odyssey from Lake Buhi, in the town proper itself. We're taking a short boat trip across the lake to get to the jump-off point of the trek. (I can't tell you now how long the voyage is, it's too short to remember! hehehe!)
